While it’s widely known that Toyota cars, trucks, and SUVs are incredibly reliable vehicles, getting backed by Consumer Reports certainly doesn’t hurt. The Toyota Camry has been given an extraordinary honor by being named the “Best Midsized Car” of Consumer Reports’ Best Cars of the Year for 2016.
The Camry was given an overall score of 83-84, a score much higher than many other vehicles on the list. Consumer Reports gave praise to the Camry’s reliability, fuel economy, performance, and quality of features offered. To be included in this prestigious list is not easy, and we think it encompasses the Toyota Camry’s perfection to a T.

In order to be considered as one of the Best Cars of the Year, each vehicle must be at the very top of their category. To do so, the vehicle has to qualify with the following:
- Must rank at or near the top of its class in road-test score
- Must have an average or better predicted reliability rating
- Must have high owner satisfaction rating
- Must perform effectively in crash or rollover tests
