Helping out, y’all: it feels good. We partner with a dog rescue center in Raleigh called Saving Grace. They have a sprawling, farm-style piece of land north of Raleigh that is full of the cutest dogs you can imagine. Because they take such good care of the animals while finding them new homes, we wanted to do something to help, so we decided to create a partnership.

We decided to make every success for us a success for Saving Grace, too. Simply put, for every new car Leith Toyota sold in December, we donated $100 to Saving Grace. Over time that added up to $15,600. It’s a testament to how much we value what Saving Grace does, and our belief that they’re important to the well-being of our city.

If you search our blog, you can find several stories we’ve written about this organization. They devote so much care to every part of the rescue process. They have the facility for dogs to run free all day in the sun and fresh air. They make sure not to overload their land or caregivers by accepting too many dogs at any one time.

They screen the dogs they take on to make sure they will be a good fit with all the other dogs currently there. With a max capacity of around 80 pooches, that’s a lot of personalities to manage. The dogs then get all sorts of training, medical care and love to get them in shape for a new home. Moving can be stressful for dogs, too, so if they’re not ready, there’s no sense trying to rush them.

Finally, Saving Grace matches dogs up with prospective owners using an application system. It works out best for everyone to make a thoughtful decision the first time around. You should go by and visit, even if only to say hi; dogs love new friends.
