You won’t know just by looking at it, but a lot has changed with the Camry this year. Underneath its skin, more than 2,000 parts are either new or redesigned. Some of these, like the wireless recharging pad for your smartphone, leap out at you. You might also notice that the front grille is wider this year.

But for the most part, these 2,000 small changes are meant to make the driving experience just a little bit better in subtle ways. It’s a car with a roomy interior, more balanced handling and an efficient engine with loads of reliability. You can read about all this in our test-drive review of the 2015 Camry from a few weeks ago.

What you might not know is that Consumer Reports recently gave the Camry top marks for overall value in a car. Specifically talking about the Camry Hybrid, the product magazine heaped praise on the vehicle for delivering on nearly every benchmark that consumers have for a car.

Another aspect of the Camry you can’t tell just by looking at it is its safety features. This is an area that Toyota is investing heavily in, as we wrote about earlier this month. Besides passive safety systems like stronger body panels and air bags, Toyota realized that safety is best achieved by avoiding collisions entirely.

To that end, bling spot warnings, pre-collision warnings, a rearview camera and lane departure warnings will help keep you out of harm’s way. These systems are only the beginning. Toyota is designing even more sophisticated systems to make collisions a thing of the past.

These are some of the reasons why the Camry is one of the best-selling cars in the U.S. We recommend coming by for a test drive of your own. Words are great, but there’s nothing like driving a car for yourself.
