One of the many ways we team with Saving Grace, a local dog rescue center, is to feature one special dog every month who needs a good home. We should also mention that we are now also matching all donations made to Saving Grace that are made at Leith Toyota; just stop by and we’ll be happy to add our money to yours. It’s an easy way to double your donation to Saving Grace.

Saving Grace is an excellent organization that takes in abandoned or neglected dogs. They receive lots of care, love, training, fresh air, play, and social time with people and fellow dogs. Once they’re ready to join a new family, Saving Grace carefully matches them up with families that would be a good fit. It’s a very thorough and thoughtful process and we’re glad to see pups in such a wonderful environment.

Below is Saving Grace’s description of October’s Dog of the Month, Davis:

  • Breed: Labrador-Retriever
  • Gender: Male
  • Size: Large

“Sweet Davis came to Saving Grace far too early for a little puppy without a mother. He was only about 4 weeks old when his litter came to us very much in need of care. It was uncertain if they would thrive without their mother.

“Davis had to quickly learn how to lap milk in order to get the nutrition he needed desperately to survive. It is a good thing this little guy is so smart and was able to tackle the task quickly. He and his siblings flourished and began to grow in strength and size. Davis is now a big boy as far as he is concerned. So big in fact that he is ready to go out on his own. That is with a little help from a new family of course! Hey, he is only three months old you know.

“Davis may be ready and raring but he is also still a super snuggly puppy who loves to be held and nuzzled. He gives sweet gentle kisses and adores a good tummy rub. He is getting a jump on things by starting his crate training and getting familiar with walking a leash. He is not so sure why these leash things are necessary but is trying to make the best of it.

“Davis is available for an adoption fee of $ 350 which includes his neuter, microchip, vaccines and monthly preventions. If you are as ready to meet Davis as he is to meet you, better email your application to Saving Grace right away. All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped.

“Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org.

“An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee. The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or our new website at www.savinggracenc.org.”
