Today is a historic day. Today is the first day that a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle will be released to the public markets, representing a revolution for sustainable motoring. The car making hydrogen history is the Toyota Mirai (pronounced mee-rye).

The Mirai achieves an EPA estimated driving range of 312 miles and a combined MPGe of 67. It’s only being sold by eight dealerships and to eligible customers. Anyone who wishes to apply must request here. Potential drivers will then be contacted by a Toyota sales representative who will discuss the possibility of owning a Mirai.

Those lucky few will have the privilege to test and discover these amazing new vehicles. Each Mirai will offer an 8 year/100,000-mile warranty on key Fuel Cell parts, three years of 24/7 customer support, and three years of free fuel. Yes, free fuel for three whole years.

We do realize we’re located on the opposite side of the continent, but this is exciting news for anyone looking to explore sustainable fuel options in the future. If the Mirai performs well in California, you can expect to see them popping up on the east coast in no time.

If you’re still interested in sustainable fuel alternatives but don’t live in California, or want to test out their first generation hydrogen cars (we totally understand) take a look at our hybrid inventory. Our trusted sales associates can get you in a Toyota Prius, a Hybrid Camry, and even a Toyota Avalon Hybrid. If you haven’t taken time to get to know the Toyota Avalon, we highly suggest you do. It’s magnificent.

Come visit Leith Toyota today and ask our sale associates about the Toyota Mirai if you’re interested, or come in and take one of 2015 hybrids out for a spin. They’ll show you what fun, yet sustainable driving is all about.
