The battle between humans and insects is ongoing and fierce. The same person who will save a struggling puppy from the side of the road, will quickly smash a spider as it scurries across their wall – we just don’t like bugs, and that’s all there is to it.

Ants are notorious for finding their way into vehicles. They cause drivers all sorts of unrest, and can be a pain to get rid of without the right information. Luckily for you, those ants aren’t interested in taking up permanent residence in your vehicle.

That’s right, the ants have infiltrated your automotive domain for one reason: resources. Remove the resources and you remove the ants. Any stray food left in the car is just waiting to be picked up by these crafty creatures, so keep your car clean and you won’t ever have this problem.

If you already have ants invading your car, here’s what you do:

  1. Clean out your car and vacuum all the crumbs up.
  2. Make sure you’re not parked by an active ant hill. If you are, move your car.
  3. If the above two don’t work, set ant traps in your car. If you can’t move your vehicle away from an active ant population, then set a trap for the hive as well.
  4. If your ant problem is located on the outside of your car, the garden hose will work wonders.

If you’ve followed all the tips and you still can’t seem to shake their resolve, feel free to bring your car by Leith Toyota’s award winning service center. We’ll detail your car inside and out to ensure the ants have no reason to venture inside and get rid of any strong-willed bugs trying to claim your vehicle.
