Hold on, Earl! We’ve got a live one! The special-edition FR-S Release Series 1.0 that Scion just released at the New York International Auto Show aims to inject the muscled-out looks of racers like the Jaguar XKR-S GT with its flared front grille and more aggressively-curved fenders into the current FR-S. To wit, the 1.0 Series is getting special parts from Toyota’s Racing Development division to complement the limited edition exterior: steering wheel, shift knob, lowering springs, and exhaust system.
The exhaust system involves four pipe-tips, which always looks rad, and the yellow paint is apparently called “Yuzu” which is either a special type of llama or a special type of llama. Just kidding, a yuzu is a citrus fruit from—wait for it—East Asia that’s a hybrid of mandarin and ichang papeda, which is another fruit we don’t feel terribly compelled to Wikipedia. The point is, it’s a color as bursting with freshness and vim as a Gushers candy, and conveys well the racing spirit of the 1.0 Series.
