April Dog of the Month: Charity, the Chihuahua Mix

We partner with local nonprofit Saving Grace NC because we admire the work they do in finding homes for neglected and unwanted animals, particularly dogs. Many people see dogs as a part-time endeavor, but the folks at Saving Grace take the care and attention that dogs need for a happy life quite seriously.

For that reason, we want to help out by highlighting at least one dog per month that is up for adoption. Saving Grace gives a lot of love and training to dogs before placing them on the ready-to-adopt list, and we’re sure that you’ll see why they want dogs like Charity to find a good home.

Charity

“Charity is a sweet, gentle female Chihuahua mix who is around 15-17 pounds, making her the perfect size for just about any living situations … she is incredibly sweet, and loves nothing more than a scratch on the chest or, even better, a warm lap to sit in. She would be a great addition to a calm, quiet home and although she will not have high exercise requirements, she would be happy to take evening strolls around the neighborhood.”

The folks at Saving Grace put a lot of love into the dogs who stay there, as well as many practical acts of care such as only accepting animals that play well with others and with people, a free-roaming fenced property, instruction on basics of obedience and manners, a full medical evaluation (spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart deworming, and flea and tick prevention) and microchip to associate them with their adopter and Saving Grace.

If you are interested in Charity, or perhaps another dog at Saving Grace, you can contact them on their website. Because of the extensive medical services and training that dogs like Charity receive, there is an adoption fee of $300.
