Well, another month, another dog. For those of y’all who haven’t seen our Dog of the Month series, every month local dog rescue organization Saving Grace NC sends us info on a dog to feature. The dogs vote on who will be nominated every month, and a special runoff election is held in case of a tie. Just kidding—dogs probably favor an oligarchical style of government.
In any case, this month’s dog is Belle, a female Labrador-Retriever who is full grown and a new mom! We’re looking for someone to adopt Belle, so if the below description speaks to you, give Saving Grace a call or email to express your interest. Saving Grace is a wonderfully thorough organization who takes in neglected animals, gives them love, medical care and social training, and ensures that adoptees are fully ready to embrace a new home. From Saving Grace:
“Meet Miss Belle! She is very ready to meet someone special and begin her new life. Belle has finished weaning a litter of adorable puppies and is looking forward to enjoying some quality ‘me’ time. She was a wonderful mom to all nine(!) of them while living with the best foster family. They report that Belle enjoys the outdoors and loves to play with a tennis ball.
“She would make a great family dog and would be up for any adventure – a hike to the lake, a trip to the beach, or just a picnic in the yard. Belle is crate-trained and does well with other dogs. She will be easy to train as she is treat-motivated and very smart. Belle is about 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. She is available for an adoption fee of $300 and is spayed, microchipped, heart worm tested, dewormed, up to date on all vaccines, and on flea and heart worm prevention.
“All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate-trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their shots, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.
“If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please e-mail a completed Adoption Application to savinggrace@savinggracenc.org. An Application is required before setting up an appointment to meet with a foster home and potential adoptee. The Adoption Application and Adoption Contract can be downloaded from the Petfinder Homepage or Saving Grace NC’s website.”
